10. Denzel Washington in Gladiator II - Washington gives an entertaining performance that offers some much needed gravitas to his film though he is limited by the film's weaknesses.
Best Scene: Protecting Dondus.
9. Richard Roundtree in Thelma - Roundtree gives an endearing performance that offers the right straight man contrast to Squib's lead performance.
Best Scene: Argument with Thelma.
8. Jason Bateman in Carry-On - Bateman gives an entertaining though also menacing portrayal of a particularly caustic mercenary.
Best Scene: Woke up.
7. David Jonsson - Jonsson elevates his film best he can by giving an endearing yet appropriately synthetic portrayal of both the best companion and a more enigmatic sinister presence.
Best Scene: Back to himself.
6. Karren Karagulian in Anora - Karagulian gives a consistently hilarious portrayal of constant intense frustration though just a hint of growth in there as well.
Best Scene: Home invasion
5. Franz Rogowski in Bird - Rogowski is going out an extreme limb and makes his off-beat character feel absolutely real and human.
Best Scene: Arm twist.
4. Austin Butler in Dune Part II - Butler brings such tremendous bravado to make a memorable sadist though also remarkably finds nuance within the type.
Best Scene: "May thy knife chip and shatter"
3. Simon McBurney in Nosferatu - McBurney finally gets his chance to do more than his usual type and runs away with his chance through his captivating portrayal of a very particular religious fervor.
Best Scene: First scene in the mad house.
2. Adam Pearson in A Different Man - Adam Pearson gives a distinctly larger than life, approachable, charming, humble, hilarious, yet earnest, likeable performance though also successfully as a very particular tormentor.
Best Scene: Unexpected arrival with Edward's work friends.
1. Clarence Maclin in Sing Sing - Good predictions Luke, Bryan, Jonathan, A, Tony, Emi Grant, Razor, Perfectionist, Calvin, Matt, Ytrewq, John Smith, RatedRStar & Brazinterma. Maclin gives my favorite male supporting performance of the year as he manages to give both a layered portrayal of a man finding his voice as an actor, while also giving an incredibly moving and heartwarming portrayal of a prisoner finding purpose and so convincingly becoming a better man.
Best Scene: "To Be Or Not To Be"

Note: I considered reviewing Mello, but didn't want to without re-watching the film first, and it will probably be quite a while before I get the chance to do so.
Louis: My request is Anders Danielsen Lie in Oslo, August 31st.
Cillian Murphy
Daniel Craig
George MacKay
Hugh Grant
Jesse Plemons
Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist
Keith Kupferer
Nicholas Hoult
Sebastian Stan
Timothée Chalamet
The only viable alternative is Zovatto but I feel as if you'll be going with the more high profile turns.
I'll request Ewan McGregor in The Ghost Writer.
Louis: I'm pleased to see Quaid finally get a 4.5 from you.
Sebastian
Cilian
Josh
Nicholas (in Nosferatu)
Timothée
Also, why have I always sucked at predicting? I take too big of swings, I guess. I've got like three performances in mind I want to request.
Louis, as we hit the halfway point of the decade, I have to ask: what is your ranking of all 25 nominated Supporting Actor performances in the 2020s?
Zovatto is a must for a review, I think.
Interesting that you have Jackman in Supporting for Deadpool and Wolverine, I think he's 100% co-lead.
My winning request is Peter Falk in Mikey and Nicky for Best Actor 1976
Daniel Craig
Lars Eidinger
Mike Faist
Nicholas Hoult
Keith Kupferer
George MacKay
Cillian Murphy
Josh O'Connor
Sebastian Stan
Josh O'connor in Challengers
Jesse Plemons in Kinds of Kindness
Izaac Wang in Dìdi
Keith Kupferer in Ghostlight
Daniel Zovatto in Woman of the Hour
Hugh Grant in Heretic
John Magaro in September 5
Ethan Herisse in Nickel Boys
Brandon Wilson in Nickel Boys
Joseph Quinn in A Quiet Place: Day One
Maclin at #1? Wow. I'll admit I wondered if there was a chance for him (or Pearson) to upset but couldn't quite bring myself to predict it.
Lucas: I believe he already released Quinn.
Also LOL at Conor MacGregor dead last. Nice first try at movies, buddy, better luck next time (?)
Matt: He deserves Nuttin.
The five reviews I’d like to see most:
Sebastian Stan
Nicholas Hoult (x2)
Timothée Chalamet
Mike Faist & Josh O’Connor
Josh Hartnett
For a ten lineup I’d add
Jesse Plemons
Hugh Grant
Andrew Garfield
Keith Kupferer
Cillian Murphy
Also, I personally really don’t need a review for Daniel Craig.
This might be a waste, but given my love for the film (and the performance), I'll request Dean Stockwell in Blue Velvet.
Louis: Are these performances all in Lead.
Antonio Banderas - Babygirl
Harris Dickinson - Babygirl
James Le Gros - Good One
Michael Keaton - Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Tom Hardy - The Bikeriders
Oh, didn't expect to have nailed one; I'll have a think about my request.
Timothée Chalamet - Dune: Part II
Daniel Craig - Queer
Lars Eidinger - Dying
Nicholas Hoult - The Order and Nosferatu
George MacKay - The Beast
Cillian Murphy - Small Things Like These Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist - Challengers Keith Kupferer - Ghostlight
Sebastian Stan - A Different Man
Izaac Wang - Dìdi
Louis: Your top 10 male supporting performances of the 2020s decade?
"Paul Bettany - 3 Wiseaus"
what has the world come to?
Robert: I think it’s because you’re usually predicting with your own ranking of the performances instead of gauging how Louis will.
Ones I want to advocate for the most are:
Jesse Plemons - He's arguably "due" an alternate lineup review.
Keith Kupferer - It's always intriguing when lesser-known actors are saved.
Lars Eidinger - Definitely seems like a performance Louis could improve his opinion on, given how much he liked the rest of the film.
Have any of you seen Woman of the Hour? Zovatto would be a very worthy review.
I have, I thought he was great. I just prefer the performances I’ve listed.
Marcus:
1. Ke Huy Quan - Everything Everywhere All At Once
2. Mark Ruffalo - Poor Things
3. Clarence Maclin - Sing Sing
4. Paul Dano - The Fabelmans
5. Brendan Gleeson - The Banshees of Inisherin
6. Guy Pearce - The Brutalist
7. Jamie Bell - All of Us Strangers
8. Robert De Niro - Killers of the Flower Moon
9. Robert Downey Jr. - Oppenheimer
10. Ben Mendelsohn - Babyteeth
Luke:
On the fence on Keaton, but the wife plot makes me lean him to lead despite still not having a ton of screentime.
