Terence Stamp I think is an easy easy easy winner, he was both chilling and sympathetic at the same time (hot too) , Sharif was good but not great compared to Steiger and Courtenay who were better, Connery was great, havnt seen Caine or Van Cleef.1.Terence Stamp2.Sean Connery3.Michael Caine4.Lee Van Cleef5.Omar Sharif
1. Sean Connery2. Terence Stamp3. Lee Van Cleef4. Omar Sharif5. Michael Caine
Terence Stamp could also be good consideration for 1994. (Priscilla Queen Of The Desert)
I've seen only Sharif and Van Cleef.Yes, Van Cleef is co-lead with Eastwood in A Few Dollars More, but in my personal awards I consider him in supporting category... where is my winner.
I've seen only Van Cleef and Sharif - both were good but nothing really spectacular. I'd personaly place the former in supporting category, but then again, he could be easily considered the lead.1.Stamp2.Van Cleef3.Connery4.Caine5.Sharif
Was Stamp not nominated i know eggar was?
@mrripley - Nope he wasnt nominated, it was very surprising, I guess they didnt like nominating Villains in the 60s.
Two great choices re: Van Cleef: 1) to review him and 2) to place him in lead. To me, he's definitely a lead; indeed, in many ways he is the central protagonist of the film. And I think he's brilliant in it: believable and subtle. The only other performance of this five that I've seen is Sharif, so this is pure guesswork as to what you will go with:1) Hill2) Stamp3) Van Cleef4) Caine5) Sharif
This looks like a strong year...
1. Terence Stamp 2. Omar Sharif 3. Michael Caine4. Lee Van Cleef5. Sean Connery
I have only seen Connery Caine and SharIf, but I pick Connery.
Oops - just saw I typed 'Hill' when I meant Connery. So:1. Connery2. Stamp3. Van Cleef4. Caine5. Sharif
Terence Stamp please!!! BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE!!!
