Louis: Your thoughts on the GOT Season 4 Finale.

Also, thoughts on the season overall.

Lastly, What would you give to each season out of 5, by your own personal rating system.

Luke: I thought the finale was fantastic. I loved the Stannis reveal, Brienne vs The Hound, and of course Tyrion's confrontations of Tywin. Almost everyone was on there a-game, even Clarke was at least worst, I thought the episode acting belonged to Rory McCann who was absolutely heartbreaking in his final scene, although Dinklage was certainly extremely close. I can't wait for next season.

I thought this season was terrific with great performances and moments throughout. Even though there technically was less in terms of the movement of armies sort of thing this season, it was still completely riveting due to the strength of the characters and the acting.

I would give all the seasons a 5 as I have yet to see an episode I would consider bad and so many of them I would consider great. Even the the weaker characters and elements are completely overwhelmed by how strong the rest of them are.

What would you say are the weakest performances on Game of Thrones? So far the only one I'd say was truly, 100% horrible was Harry Lloyd in the first season.

I have the strangest feeling everyone is underestimating Chapman...

1. Brad Dourif
2. Martin Sheen
3. Graham Chapman
4. James Woods
5. Klaus Kinski

I'd also just like to add that Dourif's performance might need multiple viewings to fully appreciate, it takes some getting used to but once you do it becomes really really effective.

Koook160: I don't know about 100% I found Sibel Kekilli to be rather weak, and Ed Skrein performance was quite lame as his Dario came across as a combination of Fabio and an uncool version of the faceless assassin. The funny thing is I thought his replacement Michiel Huisman, while better, came across as an uncool version of Bronn.

Michael McCarthy said...

Eh, by former porn star standards Kekilli could've been worse.

RatedRSar: Your Thoughts on Ghana-USA, Holland-Australia & Chile vs Spain.

RatedRStar said...

@Luke: Ghana simply couldnt take their chances, USA did.

Holland and Australia I think was an excellent game in terms of entertainment, Australia deserve to beat Spain.

Spain were completely shit and I think most football fans enjoyed seeing them going out to an excellent Chile led by Arturo Vidal and his cool tattoos.

Luke Higham said...

RatedRStar: At the moment, who do you think will reach the final.

My Picks are Germany and Holland.

RatedRStar said...

My picks would also be those two currently.

Michael Patison said...

I'll chime in too.

The Ghana-USA game yielded some of the most fun I've had in recent memory. When Brooks got the winner, it was complete insanity. In terms of the match itself, I'd say essentially the same thing as Daniel, but I'd stress Ghana not taking their chances. They had so, so many and failed to take even the best of them, scoring on a lesser chance. I'm a USA fan through and through, but I when I made my predictions I tried to be brutally honest and had us drawing this game. I'm ecstatic I was wrong.

I concur with Daniel that Holland-Australia was a blast to watch. I'd say that Spain deserves to lose to Australia more than Australia deserves to beat Spain. Australia has indeed outplayed the expectations people had for them but not nearly to the same degree that Spain has underperformed.

I had Spain winning the group with the Dutch and Chile in 2nd and 3rd, but I'm really happy I was wrong. Netherlands and Chile are vastly more exciting to watch, and the sport needs more goals. The goals per game total has been declining for years, and finally it seems to be picking up (47 goals in 20 games this WC), which is a good thing.

Also, shout-out to Guillermo Ochoa. His performance in Mexico's draw against Brazil should go down in history as one of the single greatest goalkeeping performances ever.

RatedRSar: Thoughts on England-Uruguay.

RatedRStar said...

Well I am kind of glad that Luis Suarez punished England, maybe it will let England get rid of that useless old bag of bones Roy Hodgson, England are going out, and ya know what, I am glad just to see England wake up in future, and them to know that they are not the heroes, they are not untouchable, fuck Wayne Rooney and his tap in Goal, and fuck Roy.

I also managed to get a copy of Amazing Spiderman 2, and I havnt been so angry in such a long time, a big pile of shit that was.

Luke Higham said...

RaedRStar: For you, What were the pros & cons of the film.

RatedRStar said...

@Luke: There is quite a lot of things I didnt like, I will start with whats good, I like the chemistry between Gsrfield and Stone, they have a nice and believable chemistry, right, on to the bad points, its far too fucking long, Jamie Foxx deserves a razzie nomination for his painful geek performance, the villains arent developed well enough, Electro is just a bad villain, theres too much fucking filler, Rhino is given a mere cameo, why is there 3 fucking villains, Spiderman 3 was shit, hadnt they learned from that, Fuck Amazing Spiderman 2, the first film was average, this one was like Cancer.

RatedRStar said...

If anybody else has seen the film, please help me and tell me that it was as bad as I thought it was =D lol

Luke Higham said...

RatedRStar: I agree with you on Garfield & Stone, who've been far more bearable to watch than Maguire & Dunst, all in all, I liked their chemistry quite a lot over the two films. Dane Dehaan was good, pre-Goblin and I agree on every single negative point that you mentioned.

Michael McCarthy said...

I definitely thought it was bad. The dialogue was some of the worst I'd ever heard in a comic book movie, I started cringing about 15 minutes in. The worst line of course was "I AM ELECTRO" which as we know is the single worst way to introduce a supervillain name. The scene where the Osbournes were introduced was very lazily written and seemed to assume that the audience was already familiar with the characters. That scene was also terribly acted by Chris Cooper.

Robert MacFarlane said...

I've mentioned my extreme hatred for ASM2 before. Here's my ratings for the cast;

Garfield - 3
Stone - 3.5
Dehaan - 1.5
Foxx - 2
Cooper - 1
Csokas - 1 (borders on Wiseau level)
Field - 2.5
Scott - 2.5
Feore - 2
Giamatti - 1.5

RatedRStar: Thoughts on Costa Rica-Italy.

RatedRStar said...

Italy were just poor, Costa Rica were quite clever how they managed to keep Pirlo at bay, the amount of times Italy were offside was just silly on their part.
