Barry Fitzgerald seems like a good bet for the win but Webb could surprise.

Ive seen 4 of them. Fitzgerald will win I think, followed by Webb and Rains who were also good.

1)Barry Fitzgerald
2)Clifton Webb (Great except over the top final scene)
3)Claude Rains (Best thing in movie)
4)Monty Woolley (not given enough to do)
5)Hume Cronyn

Actually I'm changing, because I never believed Clifton Webb as a straight man in love with Laura and that may cost him.

1.Barry Fitzgerald
2.Claude Rains
3.Clifton Webb
4.Monty Woolley
5.Hume Cronyn

I'm going for Barry Fitzgerald, definitely. Some character actors were co-leads in some of their movies, but were considered supporting because they were not big stars. Barry Fitzgerald had that advantage in Going My Way, and he also nailed the character perfectly.

1. Barry Fitzgerald
2. Claude Rains
3. Clifton Webb
4. Monty Woolley
5. Hume Cronyn
