Courtenay was quite heartbreaking. Caine and Eastwood were good but, sort of standard.

2)Tom Courtenay
3)Dirk Bogarde
4)Clint Eastwood
5)Michael Caine

I'm redoing it and copying Robert, especially after reading about Richard Attenborough's character more:

2. Dirk Bogarde
3. Richard Attenborough
4. Clint Eastwood
5. Michael Caine

RatedRStar: I have not given too much thought since I still have quite a lot of years left to do.

its pretty cool that 4 of these 5 are still alive and are considered legends =D

Michael Caine and Clint Eastwood are icons, Tom Courtenay is a Sir, and Richard Attenbrough is a lord, Dirk Bogarde also was a Sir.

Im gonna change my prediction and swap Courtenay and Bogarde around, Courtenay was the Michael Fassbender of the 60s, constantly snubbed and then finally nominated.

1) Richard Attenborough
2) Tom Courtenay
3) Clint Eastwood
4) Dirk Bogarde
5) Michael Caine

I haven't seen King & Country and I can't seem to find it, does anyone know a good link?

RatedRStar: Caine isn't just a legend, he's also a Sir (though I personally think calling him a Knight sounds infinitely cooler).

RatedRStar said...

=D I apologise I actually had forgotten Caine was a sir lol, I merely meant that he is basically an icon of the screen as opposed to Mr Tom Courtenay who nobody has ever heard of ever in Hollywood or anywhere else in the casual movie audience world other than Oscar Fanatics and Hull City football club lol.

King and Country is actually a quite unknown film, that's why a fair while ago I suggested it to Louis hoping it wouldn't get completely ignored (thank you Wise monk Louis =D)

Tom Courtenay and Dirk Bogardes greatest performances have yet to come in my opinion on the blog =).

So what we've got here are 4 knights and Clint Eastwood. That is really cool.

RatedRStar: I wasn't criticizing or disagreeing with you, so we're all good on that front. Also, what would you say those best performances by Courtenay and Bogarde are? I certainly can't think of anything else for Bogarde (I actually haven't seen a single thing he's been in). The only other thing I can think of for Courtenay is Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner.
