For me it's Tom Cruise, easily. Magnolia is in my Top 10 movies and his performance is nothing short of amazing. I believe you won't be that impressed by him, though.

2.Duncan
3.Osment
4.Law
5.Caine

Predictions:
1.Osment
2.Duncan
3.Cruise
4.Law
5.Caine

BTW I forgot: how did you like him in Tropic Thunder? I think he was terrific in it as well. I really admire him as an actor and he doesn't bother me as a person, either.

I think Michael Caine is a great actor, but this is not his best work. He did make one hell of a speech when he won, though.
Predictions:
1. Duncan
2. Osment
3. Cruise
4. Law
5. Caine

Tom Cruise was my favorite, Magnolia is one special film, Jude Law was quite cute and hot but a bit out of his depth.

This is the best supporting lineup ever in my opinion, not a single bad performance =)

I just got Magnolia at the library so yay, lol! I really like Jude Law and Osment is quite good too. I'm avoiding watching The Cider House Rules and The Green Mile though =/

Haley should win this one, but maybe not easily; Jude was also very good and Michael Caine was fine, too. Michael Clarke Duncan wasn't very memorable, and Tom Cruise tried but failed. Better performances by Phillip Seymour Hoffman, John Malkovich, and Christopher Plummer were not in the running.

1. Haley Joel Osment
2. Jude Law
3. Michael Caine
4. Michael Clarke Duncan
5. Tom Cruise

I'm torn between Cruise and Law, but I pick Cruise, a very strange performance in his body of Work which should have been more rewarded!
I was not impressed by the other three, especially Caine.
