John Wayne in Sands of Iwo Jima 

Gregory Peck in Twelve O'Clock High 

Broderick Crawford in All The King's Men

Richard Todd in The Hasty Heart

Kirk Douglas in Champion

I like Peck and Douglas. Not a big fan of Mr. Wayne, however, he was good at doing what he did, even though it was the only thing he did. don't know the other two. Oh well, looks like a fairly good year to me!

Wow, incredibly weak year - I guess I would go with Kirk Douglas, from what I remember he was good.

I was very impressed by Crawford but haven't seen the others.

I withdraw that. I've seen Wayne too but he was so awful that I was almost able to forget him. :D
