Now, when it comes to Murphy and Whishaw, there should be a five star performance from Dunkirk and the sea portion of the plot with Rylance and Murphy appears to be the most interesting on paper, yet if Louis covers 2012 before 2017, Whishaw's work in The Hollow Crown: Richard II is a must-watch and an easy five in my opinion.

Cumberbatch - Both he and Redmayne are hit and miss in general (well Redmanyne usually shoots some poor guy in the stands when he misses) but Cumberbatch hits far more often of the two as well as has the higher height currently.
Murphy/Whishaw - Honestly they have basically the same chance I think, both are very talented chaps who are often given thankless roles to support less talented chaps.
Well one can occasionally misplace a copy and paste, I'll get to them after I finish up Breaking Bad.
Get Out is a very good horror comedy. It does technically stretch out its concept a bit though, I do think it could have been handled all in a Twilight Zone hour to be honest, and there is one comedic scene, that while funny, might sabotage the horror a bit too much given its placement in that I think at a certain point we should have been isolated along with Kaluuya's Chris, the film gives us a bit too much of a reprieve I feel. Having said that it's a very entertaining film with a strong cast, some laugh out loud moments, along with a genuinely creepy atmosphere throughout.
Kong Skull Island is indeed very stupid, with some clunky editing, a cliched ridden script, and some incredibly thin characters for the most part. Having said that I do think there is some fun to be had as it is often visually compelling, aside from its 3-d scenes (I saw it in 2-d) and the worst aurora borealis you'll ever see, and there is an actor by the name of John C. Reilly who apparently took it upon himself to save the movie.

For Jolie a tad difficult as I have only found her Oscar nominated performances to be just fine, and the rest of her work forgettable if not bad.
Whitford - 4(Sort of typical Whitford but I mean that in a good way. He's a great uncool father which he then transitions quite naturally to the creepier side of things as the film takes its turn.)
Keener - 3.5(Interestingly she's always fairly consistent in that she starts slightly off-putting, but not creepy, then continues on that path only further to be a potential mother-in-law that really gets under the skin.)
Root - 3(Typically effective Root, very much in his wheelhouse.)
Williams - 4.5(She technically has the most extreme switch as the others more of ease into their alternate role she becomes it. Williams takes the right approach in this regard as in her early scenes she is properly very likable and natural importantly tricking you into believing she's on the level while she's tricking Chris as well. Then when she shifts it is brutally effective as she reveals such a cold detachment in her efforts, and is quite chilling particularly in her phone call scene.)
Howery - 3.5(Consistently very funny even if I'm not sure all of his scenes were placed perfectly.)

Hiddleston - 2.5(He's there, he's perfectly serviceable but he has no character to work with. He just kind of walks around and says things that need to be done. Again he does the job but there's just nothing there.)
Larson - 2(She's there, she's perfectly serviceable, most of the time, but she has no character to work with. She just kind of walks around and takes pictures. She does have a natural charm but I have to say she had a few very questionable, very weird line readings, though those lines were doing her no favors.)
Tian - 2(She certainly stood around just fine.)
Kebbell - 1.5(I have to say it Kebbell actually can't play an American. It's not just the accent, although that wasn't particularly good, but he just happens to be someone who looks English very specifically.)
Ortiz - (Bad at standing around)
Mitchell - (Okay at standing around)
Cordero - (Okay at standing around)
Mann - 1(Awful just awful. His whole arc, which he did have, didn't matter by his abysmal overacting in every scene particularly after the initial attack.)
Goodman - 3(Does a bit too much standing around himself but he has a bit of fun doing his conspiracy nut thing still seems wasted though.)
Jackson - 3(Very standard badass Jackson performance, which means still good if a bit uninspired)
In this particular case it is a little ridiculous as whoever is best for the role is best for the role. I mean if someone gets a role that means several other people had their role "taken" from them as well, regardless of nationality. I mean if Forrest Whitaker can be BRituSH, Daniel Kaluuya can be American.
Also, yeah, Kebbell has very British features for some reason. I have the same feeling about Benedict Cumberbatch, and actually to an extent Michael Fassbender who actually can do the accent well enough, it's just he doesn't 'look' right while doing it.
Louis: If your issue with Get Out was the last scene, I had a similar reaction. At first I wondered if the film should have had a darker ending, but then I realized it was pretty good bait and switch with the car door.
Also, you seemed to have the same reaction to Kong I had. Yeesh, what a mess.
I was referring to the Police station scene which I think could have merely been mentioned as something that happened with the ending.
And in regards to Williams, yeah that was pretty amazing.
