Also, what would be your ratings and thoughts on Ray Liotta in Something Wild, Bill Murray in Little Shops of Horror and Tom Noonan in Manhunter?

Kevin: Considering William Petersen isn't in the leading ranking, I would say he hasn't seen Manhunter yet.

Also, throw in Levi Stubbs into the ratings mix.

Louis, what are your ratings and thoughts on Laird Cregar in The Lodger and Alistair Sim in An Inspector Calls? Also, why is Sim supporting?

Kevin:

Liotta - 4.5(Liotta owns the film as soon as he is on screen. Liotta is such a good thug anyway as he certainly brings menace but it is the right type of day to day sort of menace. Liotta goes even further than that even though he definitely brings the brutality of his character to life. He does not play the role as pure evil and is very effective in showing that his character does actually love Melanie Griffith's, but he really does not know how to show it)

Bill Murray - 3.5 (I think I'll probably cover his performance within Martin's review)

Robert:

Stubbs - 3.5(He definitely has help with the amazing puppet in the film, but Stubbs contributes quite well himself. His androgynous voice is perfect for the plant, and he is delight to listen to well actually bring pretty fierce some at the same time.)

Matt:

Cregar - 4.5(Shame he died basically right after the film. Cregar though is a very chilling creep in the film bringing the right oddity and mystery to the role of Jack the Ripper)

Sim - 5(Sim is supporting because the film is an ensemble piece. He may be the titular character but the film is never from his perspective and really he technically just sets up the flashbacks. Sim is terrific in the role as he is very off putting and incredibly incisive in every scene. He delivers magnificently as being an overpowering presence that basically personifies justice)

Anonymous:

Stockwell - 4.5(Brilliant one scene wonder by Stockwell. Such a bizarre yet absolutely fascinating performance that is as suave as Frank describes, and he turns lip-synching into a work of art)

Luke: Price - 4(Great voice work by Price. Every line he delivers with such deliciously evil delight.)

Caine - 4.5(This is a pretty great year for supporting actors. Caine only has a few scenes but he's terrific in each. He's so disarmingly charming at times yet it is especially disconcerting to see the usually so charming Caine be able to become such a cold soulless sleazy individual at a moments notice)

Stubbs got to utter my favorite phrase of all time with perfection: "NO SHIT SHERLOCK!" That forever endeared me to his performance.

I'm very very interested in your review on Raul Julia. From what I've read, Fonda seems to be the only good thing about The Morning After :D

Louis: ratings for the casts of Chamber of Secrets & Prisoner of Azkaban.

I'll ask for two films per day, just so I won't put too much on your workload.
