Goodness, this is so much harder to predict now that you've chosen to review Grant in Holiday as opposed to Bringing Up Baby.

1. Nikolai Cherkasov
2. Jean Gabin
3. Errol Flynn
4. Cary Grant
5. Michael Redgrave

I reckon it ll be one of the two foreign language performances that wins. Errol Flynn was good, but I don't think he is that much of an actor as opposed to playing himself a fare bit.

1)Jean Gabin
2)Nikolai Cherkasov
3)Michael Redgrave
4)Cary Grant
5)Errol Flynn

A tough one to guess because three out of the five are "lightweight" performances, and Nevsky is a pretty one-dimensional character (it's been too long since I've seen the film to really comment on any nuances Cherkasov brings to the role).

I honestly haven't seen Gabin but he just seems like he's going to be great. Cherkasov is admittedly in a one-dimensional character but I felt he brought a good amount of nuance to the role. I haven't seen Holiday, so Grant is purely a guess. I really thoroughly enjoyed Flynn here and think it's his best performance. He doesn't run into the issues of Captain Blood and actually knocks his romance scenes out of the park in my opinion. Redgrave is fun but pretty lightweight, much in the same vein as Donat in 39 Steps, though I don't think Michael does it as well as Robert. Yes, I'm on a first name basis with both of them.

Why didn't you choose Bringing Up Baby? Anyway, I still choose Grant in Holiday. Flynn is most likely to be the last one.

@Michael: your on first name terms with them lol as if their like your drinking buddies lol.

I may be making a mistake putting Flynn last as I did enjoy him but ill take the risk and keep him there as I reckon he ll score either a 4 or 4.5 lol.

Anonymous: I'll explain Grant when I review him, but I should say I did consider nominating him for both performances.

Gabin is astonishing in the film, and yet I always resort to giving Grant this win. His charm is on overload in Bringing Up Baby and he just knocks it all sorts of out of the park.
