Best Supporting Actor 1975

And The Nominees Were:

Chris Sarandon in Dog Day Afternoon

Burgess Meredith in The Day of The Locust

George Burns in The Sunshine Boys

Brad Dourif in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest

Jack Warden in Shampoo

And here it is my final year in the supporting category.

So, you've finally made it to the very last year :)

My prediction:

1.Burns - The only one I haven't seen, but I have a feeling he'll be your pick :)
2.Meredith - a truly heartbreaking performance, my personal favourite - if there's anyone who can threaten Burns, it is him
3.Sarandon - quite effective in his one-scene performance
4.Dourif - he was also really good, although he was reduced to the background most of the film, except his final scenes, where he really shines
5.Warden - I have no idea what to make of his performance: he tries to be feisty, funny and charmingly naive at the same time, but it simply doesn't work

I forgot I have also seen Shampoo, but a long time ago and I don't remember anything from Warden's performance... :)

Robert Shaw should have been nominated for Jaws, in fact, I might have given him the win for it.

My favorite is Dourif. I think your #1 will be Dourif or Burns.

3. Sarandon
4. Meredith
5. Warden

Derek: Thanks a million! I will postpone 75 until I review Young.

Dourif definitely! What a terrific performance! I think Sarandon was good but annoying and I think you'll choose Burns.

So sad this is the last year :(

I've seen Dourif, Sarandon, and Warden and at this point pick Sarandon. I just don't remember OFOTCN enough and I DESPISE Shampoo.

actually I'm gonna change, Sarandon was pretty damn good (even if it was for two brief scenes).

1)George Burns
2)Chris Sarandon
3)Burgess Meredith
4)Brad Dourif
5)Jack Warden

Very sad that this is your last year. :(

But I'll just enjoy your reviews, I guess. :) I don't know whom I would pick. I found Sarandon absolutely amazing when I saw him about three years ago. However, Burns was excellent as well. I also liked Warden and (especially) Dourif, too.

Predictions:
1)Burns
2)Dourif
3)Sarandon
4)Warden
5)Meredith
