The best performance (imo) wasn't even nominated: JACK NICHOLSON!

To me, this one is Eddie Murphy all the way but I don't think I'm in the majority here lol. He's so much fun and surprisingly touching.

Arkin is funny but hardly Oscar worthy, Haley is everyone's favorite but I didn't get it, and Wahlberg's nomination baffles me.

Haven't seen Hounsou but I've had the DVD for about three months now, lol.

Its a shame the supporting line up is nearly coming to an end, great job with them Louis. Will you be doing page for unnominated performances you think deserved recognition?

The last lineup I've seen all the performances (although I hope that this'll change :P ), so here's my both my own ranking and prediction:

1. Haley - terrific performance, very risky and powerful
2. Murphy - I was surprised how good Murhy was in this movie
3. Arkin - good performance, but definately a career win. In my opinion, Dano or Carrel deserved his spot much more
4. Hounsou - nothing special, but consistenly good
5. Wahlberg - I have no idea why was he nominated.

Haley is probably my favorite. I wasn't impressed by Arkin, he's absolutely fine, but nothing Oscar-worthy.

I think it should be between Jackie Earle Haley and Mark Wahlberg; my personal pick is Jackie.

3. Alan
4. Mark
5. Djimon

Eddie

Mads Mikkelsen should have been nominated for Casino Royale.

Hounsou overacted at times, Wahlberg was ok, Arkin did nothing at all, Murphy was fine, Jackie was the best.

1.Jackie Earle Haley
2.Eddie Murphy
3.Djimon Hounsou
4.Mark Wahlberg
5.Alan Arkin

I would say Murphy. What I don't get is everybody bashing Wahlberg, though. Yeah Nicholson was better, but it makes so much sense when you think about the Academy. Wahlberg's performance was a scene-stealer and that's what the Academy loves. Now whether he over-acted in doing so is another issue entirely.

Jackie Earle Haley definitely!

I don't find this line-up really impressive! But my pick is easily Jackie Earle Haley or Djimoun Hounsou!
The other three did nothing worthy in their respective films.
