Not only is the assembly cut a better fil...Robert,<br /><br />Not only is the assembly cut a better film than the theatrical, I personally find it to be a better film than "Aliens." Not saying "Aliens" is bad, as it is a perfectly crafted film, but it lacks the gravitas and weight of the first film, which the third brings back in the best possible way. Weaver's performance in "Alien 3" is also her best performance to date. The effects are dodgy, but that's less to do with the product and more to do with the fact that Fincher was denied funding to complete them in post.
