Can I get three predictions in a row correct? Eh, probably not, but I can't wait to see the reviews for Pitt and Norton.

@Psifonian: Why? Fight Club is my third favorite movie of all time.

I just find it to be utterly unlikable as a film and a story. I like Fincher and Palahniuk a great deal, but this collaboration of ideas just really didn't gel for me. Norton was okay but it's easily my least favorite leading performance of his, Pitt was fine but I didn't find his Tyler Durden all that charismatic, Bonham Carter was ridiculous, and it was just generally off-putting (and not in the way they intended). It's kind of like my problems with "The Shining": I respect what the filmmaker was going for, but it didn't work for me and I think it's the worst of that filmmaker's canon.

Its insanely overrated status doesn't help matters, but that doesn't reflect on my judgment of the film itself.

@Psifonian: Well allow me to defend the film. I think the film is insanely brilliant. It has a very dark, misanthropic style to it that I can understand rubbing people the wrong way. Bu the thing is I think its satire has timeless relevancy. Tyler Durden serving as the nameless narrator's wish to be masculine along with the idiotic "Space Monkeys" that follow them is a brilliant mockery of our chauvinistic society and men's constant, futile attempts to assert "manliness". As someone who always found the "manly" mindset annoying as hell all of my childhood, this film was a riot for me.

The other thing is that it gets better every time I watch it. It's use of foreshadowing would make Robert Towne proud. It's framed in a perfect way so that the twist is not only plausible but still shocking for first time viewers. As for carter, I didn't like her or her character the first time I watched it, but re-watches allowed me to see her as a victim of the Narrator/Tyler's callousness.

Also, how the hell can this be Norton's worst leading role when Death to Smootchy and the unbearably racist Pride and Glory exist? Same goes for Fincher when Alien 3 exists.

I wouldn't mind Pitt winning this one at all, I found Tyler Durden to be the most interesting character he's ever played. I'm gonna go with Carrey partly because he was my childhood idol, but he also happened to nail it as Kaufman.

Ahhhhh I completely forgot about Willem Dafoe in The Boondock Saints! I'm not sure which category I'd put him in, but he definitely deserves a view.

I actually prefer "Alien 3" over "Aliens," so what do I know?

... Da fuq?

The only good part of Alien 3 was Charles Dance imho.
