Ray Winstone is my runner up in 2006 for this film. He's fricking brilliant. I wasn't a total fan of Mortensen or Downey.

My 2005 ballot looks like so:

1) Ledger/Brokeback Mountain
2) Garcia/Le Couperet
3) Gordon-Levitt/Mysterious Skin
4) Daniels/The Squid and the Whale
5) Brosnan/The Matador

I really debated whether Jones or Downey would be last because I really love them both in their very different performances.

Also, I rather doubt that anybody will overcome Hoffman. He is just absolutely stunning. I'd rank up with Abraham as far as quality of lead performance goes. He's my best of the decade.

Where is Cillian Murphy for Breakfast on Pluto? He's marvelous in the role and I expect you to review him.

Did you see him? Did you like it?

Cillian Murphy was actually quite good and consistent in Breakfast In Pluto, the film is dreadful though, The Crying Game is a much better example of Neil Jordans storytelling.

Winstone should take this in a landslide. Probably the most unfairly ignored performance of the past decade.

Downey rocked in one of the decade's most enjoyable films - Mortensen also great.

To Anonymous/RatedRStar: Well I have not seen the films actually, I'll try and get to them. They weren't included merely because this year is packed.

RatedRStar said...

ah ok, ill be honest its not Fiennes best but id still say he is pretty solid and has terrific chemistry with Rachel Weisz.

Well, for me Fiennes is a close runner-up to Daniels that year for me. It's probably his best leading role to date. Daniels wins for me by the grace of playing the most despicable character I've ever seen in a movie, ever.

most despicable ever koooki160 =).
More than say Ashton Kutcher in anything else ever lol haha.

I still say Jeff Daniels is supporting.
