Thanks for mentioning me. It feels so nice because I feel like really participating. I hope to continue my fearless predictions in the future with supporting actors. :D

Anyway, I said everything I had to say and I'm really going to miss your unique reviews. Your blog itself is the most unique of all, as it deals with actors. It's wonderful to be able to talk about this category, too.

And to answer your older question: yes, for me Jack Lemmon is like Laurence Olivier to you. And I'm glad you gave him a win. :D That's a major plus in your blog. For me... LOL

Congratulations, all the best, gratulálok and so on...

    Great job Louis! :D

Oh, and I also must mention your amazing video! Love it!

Wow, Congratulations! This is a truly amazing achievement, and you're blog has always been a nice respite from all the actress blogs around. I will miss Best Actor, but look forward to some more Supporting years. =)

And that video is absolutely stunning. Those types of videos always amaze me.

(And not to like correct you on you're own list, but I believe you had Clark Gable with 2 wins also, 34/39. Just noticed that watching the video.)

Dinasztie, houndtang, Fritz: Again thank you.

Derek Bowman: Thanks, and your right, I can't believe I forgot the King.

I just finished reading through your reviews. Pretty great, even if my opinions may differ from yours.

If you are taking requests, I'd be psyched to see the Nicholson + Brennan wins you haven't yet covered, Ledger since many think he had the best sup actor performance in the last decade and a half or so, or Godfather2x3.

thanks for mentioning me! Although most of my comments are dull since I've never seen any of the films, you always respond and you always comment on my posts!

And I promise to do a Best Actor year when I have the time!

    Amazing ranking by the way!

That video was really awe inspiring. I wish I could have worked up the motivation to make some kind of compilation video for Best Actress.

But, anyways, you're terrific Louis, you should know this :)

Great work! Could I suggest 1989 as the your return to Supporting?

    Anonymous said...

Great! Congratulations!! My only concern is why you took Stewart's win away in 1950 and suddenly gave it to Ferrer?? I thought Stewart had 3 wins!!!!!

Great job, thanks for doing this loved reading all your reviews? Would it be ok to choose 1989 supporting actor :)

Random things I noticed that interested me:
Midnight Cowboy alone has two in the top 15, and the very next year is the only other with two in the T20. The worst duo is Ali + Sam. Your general opinion of Penn is why the most surprised I was by a review of yours was Dead Man Walking, with a huge gap between it and the rest of Penn.

The majority of your bottom 9 years are 2000+, 4/T9 are 70s. 1974 is one away from having 3 consecutive listed; 1963 does have 4 consecutive.

Somewhat surprised that the favorite choice on the interwebs for worst winner is not yours, though Benigni does come close.

Despite having the most wins/near-wins Nicholson and Olivier are both only in the T20 once, and not the T10. Though they are both in the top one-fifth 6 times. It is also quirky that despite Nicholson's career being in the zenith in the 70s, neither of your wins for him are from there.

    RatedRstar: Thanks.

JJJ: I will certainly consider the requests. To address some of your random points Penn I feel is an actor who started to become far to self aware as his career progressed.

To me the 2000 are certainly weaker for this category with lesser Oscar baity performances almost always let in. 70's and 60's are just filled with amazing performances even the one's that seem Oscar baity can overcome that fact.

Foxx beats Begnigni as I feel he does even less than Begnigni does.

Nicholson's many almost wins just attests to the strength of the 70's, although I do wish he would have one year in the 70's where one of his amazing performances had not been challenged by an equally amazing performance by another actor.

Joe: Thanks again Joe, I certianly would like you to see you do one year.

Sage: Thank you so much Sage.

Anonymous: Thanks. 1989 will be possible soon although not the first one I do.

Anonymous: Thanks. After doing 1990 and seeing what was to me a lesser Cyrano I decided to revisit Ferrer, Stewart and Holden for 1950 who were all close. Ferrer edged out the other two for me now, but between the three it is a narrow margin, just like 1963, 1977. 1961, 1964.

    Anonymous: Thanks.
